About Festival X

Since its inception in 2007, Festival X has been committed to advancing photographic knowledge, creativity and innovation in Ottawa. Through its programming, X intends to increase exposure to, and recognition for regional, Canadian and international photo-based artists.

Included in the festival programming are a number of exhibitions of photographic art on view in both public and private galleries throughout the area, films focused on the celebration of photography, public lectures on artistic processes & technology, artists' talks, portfolio review opportunities and community-based events.

Even though Festival X is unfortunately no longer running, long time supporters JL Media have decided to keep this website online to serve as a great memory of this wonderful Ottawa tradition!

Festival X Participates in Nuit Blanche Ottawa
Festival X will be holding their very own event during Nuit Blanche Ottawa taking place on Saturday, September 22nd, 2012 at Saint Brigid's Centre for the Arts.

About Nuit Blanche Ottawa
It is with great pleasure that BRAVO (Bureau des regroupements des artistes visuels de l'Ontario) presents the first Nuit Blanche ever taking place in CanadaŹ¼s capital, Ottawa. Nuit Blanche Ottawa is a nocturnal event, taking place throughout the night of Saturday, September the 22nd 2012 until the early morning of the 23rd!

Just like other Nuits Blanches held in several major cities such as New York, Paris, Toronto and Montreal. Nuit Blanche Ottawa will be a fun and energizing celebration of the visual arts. Nuit Blanche Ottawa will increase exposure and recognition of regional and Canadian contemporary art forms by presenting projects by several independent curators, gallerists and artists of OttawaŹ¼s art community.

The programming of Nuit Blanche Ottawa is addressed to the general public, from the uninitiated to the already involved art scene in Ottawa.
